Our Transportation Standards
At the core of BOLT is the belief that its business has an important role in moving our country toward a more successful future. We understand that our business plays a part in growing American industry, feeding our families, and helping our team succeed.
This concept influences everything we do—we are proud to know that it’s the foundation we stand on each day. And we take it seriously.
In order to lead the transportation industry toward a better, more efficient future, BOLT has voluntarily embraced environmentally conscious tactics, partnerships and technologies before they become government mandated. BOLT has taken the initiative to participate in the EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership, a collaboration designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution along with the goal of reducing our dependence on foreign fuel. As a SmartWay partner, BOLT takes responsibility for the emissions associated with goods movement, demonstrates a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices, and makes strides in reducing our carbon footprint. With the same passion, BOLT consistently makes safety paramount in its operations and that commitment is proven by industry benchmarks and tracking. BOLT’s Safety Measurement System results from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) mean better service for our partners.
Through the FMCSA, the goal of Compliance, Safety, Accountability, (CSA) is to implement more effective and efficient ways to reduce commercial motor vehicle crashes, fatalities and injuries with continuous tracking of the motor carrier’s safety performance. Within the CSA Operational Model, the Safety Measurement System (SMS) quantifies the on-road safety performance of carriers. The SMS provides an assessment of a motor carrier’s on-road performance and investigation results within the Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs) by providing more detailed, more comprehensive, more frequent, and more public information on carrier and driver safety than previous programs. These are just some of the steps BOLT is taking to drive our company into a greener, safer future allowing us to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers. For more information on our accolades, click here.
